This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by Unbooking.org, a Global Shared Service powered by the World Food Programme ("WFP") where UN, NGOs, governmental, humanitarian, and development parties can request services .

Unbooking.org is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of its users' personal information. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard the information provided by users when accessing and utilizing the Unbooking.org website and mobile app (“UN Booking Hub Services”). 

  

Collection and Use of Personal Information 

UN Booking Hub Services may collect certain personally identifiable information (PII) from users to facilitate the requested services provided by local service providers. This information is only used for the specific purpose of fulfilling the user's service requests and is subject to the terms and conditions of each individual service. The collection of PII is necessary to ensure the efficient provision of services and to comply with implicit obligations. UN Booking Hub Services do not use PII for any other purposes. 

  

Non-personally Identifiable Information 

By accessing the UN Booking Hub Services, certain information such as Internet protocol (IP) addresses, navigation through the UN Booking Hub Services, the browser used, and the time spent, along with other similar information, will be stored on our servers and on a third-party analytics software. This information is treated confidentially. The UN Booking Mobile App may utilize GPS location information to automatically provide pricing information for the UN Mobility service. It is important to note that the app does not track users and does not store GPS data beyond the immediate use for providing pricing information. The purpose of the non personal data collection is to better understand the preferences of the UN Booking Hub Services’ visitors and improve their experience. This information is never connected with any personal information that visitors supply to us if they register on our UN Booking Hub Services. 

  

Use of Cookies 

The UN Booking Hub Services use cookies, which are small text files stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the UN Booking Hub Services. By setting a cookie, UN Booking Hub Services will remember the user the next time he/she visits the UN Booking Hub Services . This allows UN Booking Hub Services to remember user preferences and streamline the user experience by not having to ask questions that the user has already answered (such as address information). The user is always free to decline our cookies if his/her browser permits. However, in that case, the user may not be able to use certain features on the UN Booking Hub Services and may be required to re-enter information more frequently to use certain services on the UN Booking Hub Services. 

  

Security Measures 

UN Booking Hub Services employs reasonable security measures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of users' personal information. These measures include encryption, secure data storage, and restricted access to personal data. 

  

Data Retention and Anonymization 

UN Booking Hub Services retain personal information for a period of 24 months from the date of collection, in line with industry standards and to fulfil customer service, audit and oversight obligations. After this period, PII is anonymized, and after 12 months any attachments provided, including but not limited to passports and documents, are permanently deleted. 

  

Data Deletion Request 

Users can request the deletion of their personal data by contacting their manager, who should send an email to un.booking@wfp.org , explaining the reason for the data deletion request. This email will initiate the data deletion process. Please note that certain data may be retained for a limited period as required by applicable laws or regulations. 

  

Third-Party Disclosure 

UN Booking Hub Services do not disclose personal information to third parties, except as necessary to facilitate the requested services and as required by law or legal processes. 

  

Changes to the Privacy Policy 

UN Booking Hub Services may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. It is advisable to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how personal information is being protected. 

  

Dispute Resolution 

Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Privacy Notice, s shall be settled by Arbitration in accordance with the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules then in force. The arbitral tribunal shall have no authority to award punitive damages. WFP and the User shall be bound by any arbitration award rendered as a result of such arbitration as the final adjudication of any such Dispute. The language of any such proceedings shall be English. 

  

Privileges and Immunities 

Nothing in or relating to this privacy policy or this Service shall be deemed a waiver of any of the privileges and immunities of the WFP under the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations and the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies.
